2022 Year Highlights! Big Break Winner, Austin Film Festival Finalist, Coverfly Red List, Blacklist top10, and MORE!

Sometimes your hard work pays off with an incredible year. This appears to be one of those years. I am grateful and humbled by the incredible success I’ve had with several of my spec scripts this year. I did exceptionally well with two comedy specs and a feature drama.

WINNER! Final Draft Big Break - Category half-hour COMEDY PILOT

ZOO-MANS! won it’s category in the Final Draft Big Break Screenwriting competition 2022! This is an incredible feat and considering it’s estimated 15,000+ scripts are entered on average. This is more than Nicholl (8,000) and the Austin Film Festival (13,000). So, that is amazing that my script navigated it’s way through the masses to end up on top.

AUSTIN FILM FESTIVAL - Two different scripts advance! FINALIST & Second Rounder!

Very exciting news on some of my recent work. Two of my scripts were advanced in the Austin Film Festival. Both are comedy scripts. One is a spec pilot called ZOO-MANS! that advanced to the Second Rounder category. The other script, and even MORE EXCITING, is a spec for What We Do In The Shadows I wrote that is now a FINALIST!!! for the 2022 Austin Film Festival’s best comedy script.
